When you buy a BTC ETF and give your money, the issuer (Blackrock) has to buy the same amount of BTC and store it. When you sell your BTC ETF and get back your money, the issuer (blackrock) has to sell the same amount of BTC.
That’s the basic logic.
So stop panicking when these BTC ETF issuers are selling their BTC holdings. They have to do it because they have already cashed it for you. Why will they sit on some holding that they have already sold?
The main goal of these BTC ETF issuers is to get a MER from you. That’s it. They aren’t like Microstrategy, who is loading up on BTC for investment.
