What's the point other than a store of value and cutting out the middle man?

So I've been in the Crypto space for a long time now and enjoy reading up about it and what it's capable of. But I'm not starting to question, why? I've been reading articles about a bunch of different alt coins that have been the proverbial "dogs bollocks" recently and I'm now finding myself saying "ooooh, that's cool, but what does that do for me?" I've invested in a lot of AI coins - since I see AI as the future - but all it feels like is an investment (or quite frankly, a gamble) and that's it. I see a lot of coins talking a big game but I'd like to be able to actually USE that myself instead of just read about what's all the fancy shenanigans it can do, does that make sense? At this point I'm thinking of just waiting for the ETF and taking it from there.
