Are We the Buzzards Circling Above?

I have this feeling that’s been creeping over me all day, and I wanted to see if anyone else agrees.

It felt incredibly wicked and disingenuous in this subreddit today after seeing the Hotline pop-up and then seeing the flood of “hotline not pinned yet” comments that steered the threads.

(Before I go any further, I just wanna shout out to everyone here and share some love - we all are passionate ab crypto and want to see it succeed. I hope each and every one of you is blessed in your journey.)

Profits are important when investing, but I’ve always appreciated this community’s ability to work toward loftier goals alongside wanting these gains. Recently, though, it has felt as if we started prioritizing profits above the overall health of the community.

Comments/discussions about the Hotline signaling a bottom in the market weren’t tough to read before, while the analysts combed over crypto’s history and tried to find markers and clues for future reference… but lately?

It’s felt really wicked lately.

I’m not heavily invested, as I just don’t have the means to right now in my life, but I have put in as much as I can afford to - which relative to my net worth means a lot. So I truly, sincerely empathize with those in our community that over invested by letting their emotions get the best of them. I was there in the past, and even right now as this market bleeds, I’m really feeling the pain of seeing what little funds I had invested get bludgeoned to a pulp.

So at the very least, we should set some codes of honor amongst ourselves — and find some kind of code of ethics that we abide by, support each other with.

A post about suicide prevention? We should treat it seriously and keep the comments positive, on topic, and helpful.

I just started imagining what it would feel like if I had negative thoughts on that level, and then while scrolling through the usual, came across that post — it felt like I was watching buzzards circling above.

Just a gentle nudge to remind myself and maybe you all too, let’s accumulate the real karma too, focus on the bigger picture and remember to keep our greed at bay particularly when it comes to the livelihoods of others.

(By the way, I remember coming across a post yesterday where someone shared their anecdote of how the hotline wasn’t actually helpful for them. We as a crypto community really should create our own hotline, geared towards our specific set of issues. Anyone have experience in setting up something like this? I would be more than happy to take lead if not.)
