Deploying NFTs on L1 vs L2

As the title says. Consider you want to launch a 1k nft collection, with a unit price of say 10 USD equivalent in ETH. From a price perspective, it does make sense going for L2 or Polygon POS. Cheaper to mint etc. But are people even using these chains for stuff other than Defi? Polygon seems to be full of trash (I get dozens of spam nfts in my wallets daily), Arbi and OP have very few users, and they are barely supported by any marketplace besides tofu. Then you have UX friction with the bridges. So, is it even worth it right now?
