I’m currently running a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB (RPI) in headless mode, so I access the device only via SSH.
Installed Software:
- Bitcoin Client: Bitcoin Core Client
- Indexer: Electrs (maybe I’ll use Fulcrum in the future for better performance)
- Explorer: RPC Blockchain Explorer
- Lightning: LND, RTL/ThunderHub
- Security/Privacy: Tor + I2P
The node runs 24/7.
I want to switch from RPI to a mini pc. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny, HP EliteDesk Mini or Dell Optiplex Micro. I want a pretty power efficient CPU like Intel N5105 but I also could be a i5-10500T with low power usage like 35W.
I’m aware that there’s nearly nothing like RPI on the market when it comes to power saving.
I want to use ideally a 2TB SSD NVME/PCI and upgrade to at least 16GB. Maybe one SSD for Linux OS and one SSD for blockchain and indexer.
I have technical proficiency and can modify/upgrade all parts and config everything by myself.
All in all I don’t wanna spend more than $350-$400 for the whole setup.
Which device do you guys recommend? It should be a solid/reliable device since it’s gonna run 24/7.
