Gas fees are half of what I am trying to move!

I have 70$ of DyDX rewards that I need to claim.

No matter what time during the day/night I try to claim it, the gas fees always cost at least half of the $70.

Is this just the current standard of doing anything on Ethereum or am I missing something?

I have mostly been using chains like BSC, Polygon and Cronos for the last couple of years but I thought gas fees were supposed to have improved. Unless this is a DyDx issue these fees seem to be even worse than what I remember.

Is there a smarter way to claim this such as lots of smaller transactions or do I have to accept that Ethereum just eats half your balance?
