I have a physical bitcoin. How much is it worth?

I’m a little confused because an elderly family member gave it to my son and was like, “keep it safe!” But also seemed to imply that it wasn’t worth much. This is not a rich person. I did a quick google search and it might be worth like 25k? Do I keep it somewhere other than my preteen’s Pokémon collection? Is a bitcoin a bitcoin is a bitcoin type thing? Are there tiers of these? Any guidance is appreciated.
