I am excited to be here engaging with this amazing r/CryptoCurrency community! To give you a quick run-down CoinSmart is a crypto trading platform based in Toronto, Canada, I have worked in the finance industry for the last 13 years before joining CoinSmart as the EA to Justin Hartzman the CEO of CoinSmart. As the pandemic hit I started helping out in Compliance where I started to have a better understanding of our users, cryptocurrency, and the world of cryptocurrency scams and fraud. For the last two years, I have been focusing on general day-to-day compliance, fraud prevention, detection, and research. During my work day I try to look at a potential fraud case from every side of the perspective to me it’s not just about stopping fraud and protecting our users, it’s about preventing cryptocurrency scams and fraud in the whole industry space. Making cryptocurrency accessible to me captures it all - solid customer support, a great platform, and empowering our users with up-to-date compliance information pertaining to scam/fraud. From cryptocurrency investment management fraud to fake Amazon scams and even romance scams I have seen it all and then some.

I am here to answer any questions you have on scams and fraud within the crypto space and hopefully help provide some tips on how NOT to get scammed and keep your money safe. On October 22nd, CoinSmart was granted restricted dealer registration with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and securities regulators across Canada. We also increased safety and security on CoinSmart by adding mandatory 2FA and email confirmation for withdrawals. When it comes to safety we are as regulated as you can get and will continue to take a regulatory first approach to ensure all our users can come to our platform for stress-free trading.

The bulk of my job here at CoinSmart is to ensure I am keeping our users safe from scammers and providing them with fraud prevention tips as often as possible. I know that the more awareness and education we have around fraud and scams within the crypto space the more we will help traders make future trading decisions. This is why I am happy to be here today in one of the biggest crypto communities to answer your questions.
