Is the lacking customer service at Coinbase typical of the crypto exchange industry?

I am new to crypto, and I generally like Coinbase quite a bit. It's easy to use, and the rewards from the card are very generous. But I keep running into little issues, and it's very difficult to get a straight answer from support about some of these things. The issue I'm dealing with right now really feels like it shouldn't be all that complex, but it's been a struggle in the emails. It honestly seems more like a glitch than anything else, to me anyhow.

I like the idea of cryptocurrency a lot, but the extreme difficulty with support is a real turn off. Are there any exchanges that you've actually had a good experience with?
