Fiver is absolutely not shit. There's just a wide variance of quality on there since it's an open market place. As a freelance web designer, I commissioned 5+ people on different projects each and the quality was always usable and almost precisely what I asked for.
The problem with most of those videos is they give little to no instruction and leave things up for interpretation. When your uncpeific and don't spec out the deliverables, as well as not agreeing on how many revisions you expect and other important details, you won't be satisfied with the results.
