Just received random approvals on my wallet this morning. Is this spam?

Hey guys,

I did some wallet clean up over the last few days and use revoke.cash & https://app.unrekt.net/ to remove allowances on my account. This morning I wake up to find various allowance approvals on my account. I spoke to Zerion customer support and they said that these are spam transactions. Can someone explain how these spam transactions actually work?
