Market manipulation exists in Defi the same as Cefi.

This a a good report on wash trading and market manipulation on Dexs. Just because something is decentralized doesn’t magically make it immune to corrupt actors.

As much many in crypto don’t want to hear it, we need to do a better job of self-regulating. As long as this industry stays the Wild West the longer crooks and scammers will run wild here.

Government regulation of Defi probably isn’t going to work either since it can’t be trusted and will probably just result in a dark web of unregulated markets that more savvy users operate on.

But optimistically I think we are getting better at solving these problems. Defi is a brand new industry in its infancy so problems like this are to be expected. I look forward to us doing a better job of self-regulation that outshines what centralized regulatory regimes can do. But we need to push in this direction and not just let this stay the Wild West since it profits the more savvy users.
