According to ethereum.org, MetaMask is a “non-custodial” wallet, which means that it doesn’t “control” private keys. Well, it’s not true. At least, not for iOS app. If I open the iOS app, it offers me to either import a private key or generate new one. If I turn off the Internet, as I should for a signing app, the app doesn’t work.
I lost hope finding a wallet that stores private keys in cold storage.
