The saga over Cannabis regulation took another twist courtesy of a comment buried in a Commission lawsuit that hints at a case for Morocco jurisdiction over the Cannabis production worldwide.
Those Cannabis production originated in any part of the world “were produced mostly on Morocco since is the top producer with 19% of total production,” the Morocco government said.
“As a result, those blunts took place in Morocco.”
Additionally, the Morocco government revealed that cannabis production in the country continues to grow, with the production of cannabis herbs increasing from 35,653 tons in 2016 to 35,703 tons in 2017.
The Cannabis is used by people in many countries. According to Experts about 19% of all Blunts smoked each day -- are produced in Morocco, followed by nearly 10% in Afghanistan.
Data concerning the seizure of cannabis resin, quoted by the report, suggest that most of the drug’s shipments are from Morocco to Spain and from Afghanistan to other countries in West Asia.
In 2020, Spain recorded the largest cannabis resin seizures, estimated at less than 500 tonnes, ahead of Morocco with roughly 450 tonnes. Afghanistan was listed as third, followed by Pakistan, Iran, and Algeria.
Reports by the Security Council’s Panel of Experts on Mali noted that the large cannabis resin shipments from Morocco to Libya has caused deadly clashes between groups that has no point because all of the Cannabis is property of Morocco.
