Politicians are now starting to use crypto as leverage to win election votes from people who are invested, and we're completely fine with that?

A disclaimer, I'm someone who really hates politicizing every little thing that's happening around me, but this, this really grinds my gears.

So first off, there's a news going rounds in crypto/financial news websites regarding the introduction of a bill, SB 1341, in Arizona about adopting BTC as legal tender. Yes the hype is indeed real and a lot of people in the crypto space are hopeful for this bill to be a law in the near future. Yes this is good for mass adoption, this will help crypto as a whole. Feeling ecstatic? So do I, of course.

So now, following the hype SB 1341 produces. This politician from Texas, Don Huffines, is now promising to propose a similar bill in Texas if he wins the election. People are now more hype and hopeful for these adoptions. But are we really fine with this? Crypto people being used as leverage by these filthy politicians to win a post in the government. Let's also not forget that these guys are damn politicians who likes to promise everything people want to hear during campaigns. Not to mention this guys is also trying to seize the post for quite some time now too, a simple google search of his name and articles pops up. I'm not even from the US of A, to be so concerned about this, but I fear that crypto will be used as leverage to get power in the future, and people being left with empty promises.

Please let's not look at these people as friends, savior, or messiah of crypto. They are businessmen through and through. They like money and power more than anything, yes I'm generalizing, I've been in this world enough to conclude this as a fact. However, in the off chance that they may actually care for the future to adopt these techs, let's not forget that they are obviously like any of us here - mostly driven by the smell of money ^{and power}.
