Moons wiki (in the menu above) holds a lot of information and links, but there's no short overview. So for whom this may be relevant, here's some tldr about earning moons.

Moon Week

1. Snapshot day is the day where (almost) all the information below will be gathered to calculate the Moons you will receive - comments, posts, the Moons in your vault.
2. On snapshot day, government proposals take place. A successfull proposal might even change the amount of Moons you'll receive. Voting gives you a bonus.
3. Distribution Day is 7 days after, here you will receive your moons.

What will make you earn moons

1. comment in this sub, counting 2x) (CCIP-001)
2. text post in this sub, counting 1x
3. link post in this sub, counting 0.5x (CCIP-038)
4. 'comedy' flaired post in this sub, counting 0.1x (CCIP-004)
5. one of the best memes in r/cryptocurrencymemes ("350 for 1st, 250 for 2nd, 200 for 3rd, 150 for 4th, 50 for 5th") (CCIP-005)
6. voting in government proposals like this one will give you a 5% bonus, an additional vote will give 1.25% (CCIP-005, CCIP014)

What will influence the amount of moons you receive

1. Moons/ karma ratio: For 1000 karma earned on this sub via posts or comments you will receive at least 795 moons this round. This number is different every month. (CCIP-030)
2. deleted posts / comments do NOT count (CCIP-011)(important to add: comments under deleted posts still count!)
3. a limit of 1,000 karma for one post or comment CCIP-003
4. there is a flexible limit for maximum karma in one distribution cycle (~15k for 28 days) (CCIP-029)
5. there is a penalty (in %) for keeping less than 75% of your moons on snapshot day (moons for special membership don't count)
6. there will be a reduction of earned moons beginning at your 50th submission for one day (CCIP-015)
