Tried searching if such a thread has been created on this subreddit, but all I found in search results were some trails to other subs, so here we go. After the scam that was the SHIB airdrop, I've heightened by guard against such malicious attempts, but even this one fooled me for a bit - due to how 'professional' it was written: I'm used to crypto scams with terrible English, and even the SHIB airdrop's grammar was spotty in some areas, but this one escaped my defenses. I've also recently had to upgrade some Layer 2 ETH wallets to newer versions, which is why 'upgrading your wallet' wasn't something that was foreign to me. In my head it was typical crypto activity. Thankfully I thought to check the sender's email address first, which was a clear sign that this wasn't an official email. Please stay safe out there everyone. [link] [comments] |
