Retirement crypto!

Hi so I wanted to ask a question on your guys opinions on investing in crypto for the shortest term. Obviously everyone hear has long outlooks (myself included), unfortunately my mother does not have this luxury of time and is getting near the hopes of retirement (within 5 years more than likely). She is very stressed about money and is uneducated with finances and investing and has asked for help possibly getting into crypto.. She does realize it’s not a get rich quick scheme, she understands it could technically hit $0. She also does not have tens of thousands of dollars to make staking the worth while option.

My current thought has been to have her just DCA into bitcoin and ETH for the considerable future and my opinion was once a crash comes we could explore other options and she possibly learned a bit herself as well by then. An end goal of having an income producing portfolio is best so the idea would be to stake eventually. Wanted other peoples opinions on this, I’m sure others have run into the difficult question of investing in crypto near retirement without a huge chunk of money. What’s the safest play here? I should include there isn’t enough money to throw it in stocks and hope for a 10% return with a future 2% dividend although she would much rather be less risky (boomer mindset, cash is safe, risk is bad). My other thought was to take what she can right now and split it 50/30/20 and go into a few alts as well for staking and rewards like polkadot maybe.

What do you think? What would you do? It’s very difficult to construct a plan for someone else who has a much shorter timeframe and lower risk tolerance than yourself. Any ideas are welcome
