| BlackRock has launched a tokenized money market fund on Ethereum The fund invests in cash, short-term U.S. Treasuries, and repurchase agreements (repos), just like a traditional money market fund. The difference is that ownership is represented as tokens on Ethereum, allowing on-chain transfers while the underlying assets remain traditional financial instruments According to BlackRock, the fund is also designed to qualify as an eligible reserve asset for regulated U.S. stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act. If adopted, this could allow stablecoin issuers to hold tokenized Treasury-backed funds as part of their reserves instead of relying solely on bank deposits This also builds on BlackRock's earlier tokenization efforts with BUIDL, showing that the company sees public blockchains not just as a place for digital assets, but as infrastructure for issuing and settling traditional financial products What do you think?
