Sony, the Japanese electronics giant, is now starting its own blockchain.

Sony Block Solutions Labs, a joint project between Sony Group and Singapore-based Startale Labs, said Friday it's coming out with a new layer-2 network atop the Ethereum blockchain called Soneium.

On 28 August, they introduced the Soneium Minato testnet, a public blockchain network that allows developers and users to explore and test applications before the main network is launched.

In addition to this, Sony has also announced the Soneium Spark incubator program, aimed at accelerating blockchain development. The program offers support to eligible developers, including an investment of up to $100,000. Program participants will receive marketing, business, technical, and financial support, as well as access to workshops and mentoring sessions.
