South Korea system, “guilty” until proven guilty: Do Kwon

As we have all heard Do Kwon was arrested in South Korea a few hours ago. The justice system in South Korea does not operate like it does in the United States.

If you are arrested in South Korea, you are essentially guilty until proven guilty. The conviction rate is not as high as Japan’s ~99% conviction rate, but it close. Since Do Kwon (and 5 other Terralab members) have been arrested in South Korea, they are essentially guaranteed to be convicted.

The chance of winning an appeal after a conviction in South Korea is so low that it isn’t even worth mentioning.

I might not be a fan of South Korea’s justice system if I was arrested there, but the system is great for Do Kwon who continued to tweet about LUNA and LUNA2 up until his arrest.
