Imagine a decade ago thinking that one of the focuses of the Western governments would be Cryptocurrencies it seemed impossible.
Now whilst there’s a lot of negativity particularly from President Biden on taxes/loopholes and Senator Warren’s views for me it as bullish sign that arguably the world leader nation the US is openly discussing cryptocurrency and even holding a Senate meeting today.
The U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has long projected he wants the U.K. to be a central leader in this area, and called for a digital pound in the future. He’s a fan and admirer of the blockchain technology too.
Now he may not be PM long, but it’s still a bullish sign that these leaders, and governments are discussing both good and bad from the West.
It’s indicating a shift in recognising the growth of the industry, and in term that really I think the overall aim is people need some sort of protection from scams such as FTX and pump and dump coins.
Whether that happens is another story and it could take another decade, but I think some regulation is coming and that will bring confidence in turn to the general population and support for Cryptocurrency and heading into wider adoption.
I think this is a better sign than counties such as Venezuela who have adopted Bitcoin as it’s really the West that if they accept and adopt Crypto that will cause confidence in other nations and the rest of the world to follow suit.
Anyone else feel the same? I just think the fact it’s discussed daily now and hearings and investigations are held show that it’s now something that can’t be ignored and they recognise it’s importance and potential.
