The one real free crypto I’ve found (other then staking) COINBASE Debit

I know a lot of people know about this but maybe a few don’t and maybe a few people would like a review.

I got on the waitlist for the Coinbase debit card awhile back and finally approved a few weeks ago. I can confirm that if you buy USCD from your bank account to coinbase or coinbase Pro there are no fees. When you make a purchase with debit card it pulls the money from the USDC…again, no fees after several transactions.

You have two options for rewards….1% Bitcoin or 4% Steller Lumens (XLM). The rewards are very quick after a purchase. I didn’t time them but it seems like they are within an hour. You can then swab out your rewards for whatever coin you want. I typically do ETH, ADA, Tezos, Algo, and a few others. There is even this little part of me that keeps getting drawn to AMP :)

Couple things I’ve found so far….

The debit card isn’t 100%. Some sites do not allow it. The only big one I’ve noticed so far Zelle. I have been successful using it for Church offering, water bill, electric bill, and cable bill. I also used it to pay tuition for a program my daughter goes to and they use Square. I bet I could use it for Verizon too but I have an American Express card that gives 5% case back for wireless service so I’ll stick with that. Costco visa has some of the best rewards for gas and restaurants so I’ll stick with that for now. I think I can get to about $1000 of use on the Coinbase card so $40 of free crypto a month….$480 a year.

The other thing I need to figure out is keeping track of the crypto investments. Since I’m not constantly uploading money into USDC and then spending it I’m having a little harder time keeping track of each investment and coin purchase. Not a bad thing…..just annoying.

Anyway….free coins my friends and not a scam. If this card is really successful I can see it helping coinbase stock too.
