So I've been messing around with generating vanity addresses a bit, and I was wondering if maybe someone here could shed some light on it for me..
So I generate a solana vanity address using the cli tools with a mnemonic phrase, then it spits out the seed phrase along with a json file that is the public address starting with the word I asked for, let's say "COCKjrif8j4rnfjdidufhdhdid" (the chicken ofc, also I made that up so don't bother).
Now I go into let's say solflare and add the mnemonic phrase, but the associated account I then get has a completely different address from my vanity address, it just gives me a random address, but when I manually copy paste the vanity address into solscan it does exist..
Am I missing something here? Or maybe misunderstanding how this works?
Edit: So apparently it's because of the solflare wallet.. It works fine in the phantom wallet for some inexplicable reason
