Call me old fashioned, by I like my coins to have utility and actually do something.
I'm like that with everything else that I buy, so why wouldn't I use the same philosophy when investing.
I don't have the time or skill to trade, so I am very much a buy, stake, HODL kinda guy and in any investment for the long run. Based on this, I can't see any reason for buying a meme coin. They do nothing. Getting more coins by HODLing is a scam that makes you think you're getting richer, but holding 1b coins worth 0.000000001 isn't going to make you rich over night and certainly not in a year or 5 years when the project was conceived over a pizza and a joint and the sole aim is to make the Devs rich.
The majority of retail investors lose money because you lack time, skill and patience. You're also up against professionals and AI algorithms which can make 100s of trades by the time you've realised the candle has a short wick.
If you're adamant about investing, DYOR. Buy into projects you like and can see a real world application, then just stake and HODL.
In the meantime, enjoy your life and get off of coin gecko for 5 minutes
