When you join as a node, can you save bandwidth by downloading already pruned blocks from peers? This massively cuts down on bandwidth and storage but I’m wondering if there are unsurpassable issues with this. For example if spent outputs aren’t pruned, but their recipient transactions are pruned, you have a double spend. Is there a way around this? Or does someone need to keep a copy of the entire unpruned history of the blockchain?
