Where is the safest place to store crypto

im not some noob who has no clue how crypto works and how to store it. but why is it so difficult to find a solid answer about finding the best option? im not some expert either but it seems like everyone or every web page has some smart bs to say or trying to sell something... with all the issues that ledger has proven to us, it has me wondering if even trezor is safe... were trusting these companys and the people who make them to provide us with safe storage methods but its not feeling so safe anymore. so again, what is the best way to store crypto. thanks
