why do we need decentralization?

A lot of people in this sub shill non decentralized coins and plenty argue that it doesn't matter if crypto is decentralized.

This is wrong.

I'll use one example to explain the whole decentralization fever some of us seem to have.

When Edward Snowden leaked government data it showed that the US and its allies had approximately 80% transparency into citizens devices, they could turn on your cell phone microphone or camera to listen and see whenever they wanted, they could read your texts and listen to your voicemails.

Now decentralization comes in when we learn how the government was able to do this. Basically the centralized service providers such as Verizon & AT&T gave the government the keys to do these things and helped them do it to avoid any bullying by the government.

If these service providers were decentralized then this would have been impossible. This is why we need to decentralize our services.
