Why don’t more companies hold Bitcoin on their balance sheet?

I’ve been in Bitcoin personally for a few years now and have spent a lot of time learning/understanding what it’s all about from a personal perspective.

It surprises me how few companies (excluding BTC/crypto related companies) keep BTC on their balance sheet or accept payments in BTC etc. The core business for Microstrategy and Tesla for example, is not crypto related in any way, and yet they have built BTC into their strategy.

Why don’t more companies do this? How would a company go about implementing this? What would be some of the benefits or risks ?

I’m a senior executive in an asset heavy (vehicles) business (not publicly listed), and I’m trying to formulate some thoughts on how we might pivot the business in this direction in order to take advantage of some of the benefits that we see personally (inflation hedge, FX volatility hedge on African or Asian markets etc).
