Elon Musk now owns 9% of Twitter, and it is being speculated that hecould force the microblogging giant to adopt Dogecoin

News has been doing the round that Elon Musk has acquired upto 9% of Twitter stock.

Dogecoin takeover of Twitter in the pipeline?

As a result of this news, Twitter shares have mooned and even Dogecoin has gone up quite a bit.

In the past, Elon has publicly stated he will support the adoption of Dogecoin on social media. Now it is being speculated that dogecoin could be added as a tip jar on Twitter. It would not be surprising for Twitter, which already supports both bitcoin tipping as well as native blockchain NFTs as profile pictures.

It is not known how much of Dogecoin Elon holds, but again its speculated that some of the Dogecoin megawhale addresses could be Elon, either way his continued shilling of Doge can be assumed to mean he has some financial stake in the cryptocurrency.

Some replies to comments:

1. "Not if Jack has any say" - Elon already holds more stake in Twitter than Jack... infact Elon is the largest shareholder in Twitter

2. "He can't do shit with 9%" - thats technically true, but the other major shareholders are all investment funds like Vanguard, Blackrock etc. He could easily cut a deal giving them a bit of SpaceX (a private company that funds are dying to have exposure to) in exchange of support on Twitter... not saying this is the path that he will follow but there are a lot of options for Elon.
