Why did you buy ETH

As the title says, I’m curious why people have bought or traded ETH for. I understand there are the obvious answers such as investment, staking, love for the project, supporter of PoS etc, it’s ok to state those and add why you are still holding it. I’m also interested in other responses. I have some ETH that I acquired during and after COVID, but don’t really see myself using it or it appreciating in value, so looking for some reasons to continue holding it vs converting to other crypto.
